Meeting place for LGBTIQ athletes
Since 2007, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender sports enthusiasts from all over Europe have traditionally met in the state capital on the weekend before Easter for the
DÜSSEL-CUP.
The queer multi-sport tournament is organised by the sports clubs VC Phönix, Düsseldorf Dolphins, Weiberkram and TSC conTAKT. The tournament schedule includes sports such as badminton,
basketball, football, running, swimming, table tennis and volleyball. The DÜSSEL-CUP is all about meeting people and fair competition. But the goal is also more visibility for queer sports
clubs.
A special sports festival was supposed to take place in the summer of 2020, but had to be cancelled due to the Corona pandemic: EUROGAMES 2020 DÜSSELDORF was planned as a queer tournament with more than 30 sports and around 4,000 athletes from all over the world.
